Learning in the Brain

The brain is composed of many different sections and each section is responsible for a different function and interacts with other sections of the brain to carry out its function. This illustration describes where the brain is responsible for certain tasks– reading, writing, listening, and math– and how they overlap. This is important for understanding learning disabilities in the brain because if one section of the brain is weaker, then it will struggle to carry out that function and interact with the other parts of the brain. However, due to the brain’s neuroplacticity, other sections of the brain would build stronger connections, person the individual would become more adept at other skills as a result.
